2022 Chevy Silverado Is a High-Class Super Cruiser

Seat belt pretensioners employ tiny incendiary devices to tighten the belt when a car decelerates quickly, as is the case after an accident.

This keeps the person firmly seated and enables the front airbags to function as effectively as possible.

This particular component is at the heart of a recent GM recall. For the model years 2017 through 2023,

Chevrolet has recalled over 111,000 Chevrolet Bolt EVs.

This only applies to the Bolt EV and not to the Bolt EUV, which is its bigger sister.

The affected cars' production dates extend from

July 26, 2016, to October 25, 2022.
