2023 BMW iX M60 vs. 2022 Rivian R1S Launch Edition

BMW's cutting-edge iX's top M60 model, which costs $109,895, has an improved rear motor with a 0.8-inch larger rotor and a stator crammed with more copper windings.

With the help of a second inverter, the peak output may be raised from 335 to 483 horsepower. The combined maximum output of the two motors is 610 horsepower

and 811 pound-feet of torque. That's a lot, but not when compared to Rivian's four-motor drivetrain (still the sole offering, although a less expensive,

two-motor setup is in the works). It has a power output of 835 hp and 908 pound-feet.

The $91,500 R1S looks very identical to the R1T pickup truck from the B-pillar forward,

but the S fits three rows of seats into its upright SUV body and has

a 14.7-inch shorter wheelbase.
