2024 Mazda CX-90 Will Be Offered as a Plug-In Hybrid

The upcoming CX-90 three-row SUV from 2024 has received some further information from Mazda.

We now know that in addition to the previously mentioned inline-six engine, it will also be available with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain.

The "e-Skyactiv PHEV" insignia and the taillight design may be seen in a teaser photo of the vehicle's back.

We anticipate the plug-in hybrid vehicle to have a similar configuration to the CX-60 for the European market, 

 which we tested earlier this year. The 2.5-liter inline-four gasoline engine and the electric motor in that SUV, which shares a longitudinal basis with the CX-90, 

 have a combined output of 323 horsepower and 369 pound-feet. A 35-mile electric-only range is reportedly provided by a 17.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, 

while Mazda does make a suggestion that the U.S. version of this powertrain
