The Chevy Avalanche's bad reputation is regrettable. The pickup truck showed glimpses of what the Avalanche

may have been at its peak in its last model year (2013): a dependable option in the pickup truck market in 

terms of luxury and performance. It had previously had poor crash test results and significant engine issues.

The 5.3-liter V8 engine and 8,100-pound maximum towing capacity of the 2013 Chevy

Avalanche may not appear particularly spectacular for a pickup truck. Yet it has a lot of benefits, such

great highway fuel economy (21 mpg), which is made possible by an active fuel management system.

Notwithstanding these issues, earlier Avalanches covered more than 300,000 miles; consequently,
