Cosworth Worked Their Magic With The Ford Sierra RS500 Engine

The YBD engine utilized in the Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth shone

brightly since it was created specifically for this function. It featured various

improvements and was based on the YBB motor from the

RS Cosworth. To withstand additional power, Cosworth reinforced the

engine block (which was particularly relevant in race models).

Special oil-cooled pistons kept temperatures under control,

while improved fuel, oil, and water pumps made sure fluids

reached where they required to go swiftly. They added a new secondary fuel rail, a larger

turbocharger and intercooler, and a new ECU tune to maximise the benefits of the

changes. The 2.0-liter engine in the automobiles had a five-speed manual transmission and

produced 224 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque (with a limited-slip differential). The

for the desert might not seem all that unlikely, especially since Porsche has recently shown their Baja version of the 911.
