Ford Adds Third Shift At F-150 Lightning Plant Amid "Huge Demand"

A third shift has been added at Ford Motor Company's Rouge facility in Dearborn, Michigan, citing "huge" demand for

the F-150 Lightning electric pickup vehicle in a statement made on December 13.

The manufacturer claimed to have increased employment at the electric truck facility from 500 to 750 employees by adding 250 jobs in November to staff

the third shift at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center. By the autumn of 2023,

the business hopes to produce 150,000 F-150 Lightning pickups per year.

Ford is on pace to reach that previously announced production milestone, according to Corey Williams, plant manager of

the Dearborn Truck Plant and Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, who was speaking to CNBC on a tour of the site.
