Ford F-150 Lightning Goes to Work as a Farm Truck

This decision on passing lanes and green signals was unique. The 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6 in our go-to farm truck, a 2022 F-150 crew cab

from Ford, is smooth but not too powerful. I finally had the opportunity to switch from internal combustion to battery-electric propulsion,

thanks to a 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Extended Range. The same as my truck, it was a

Lariat. This vehicle, in contrast to my F-150, had 580 horsepower, 775 pound-feet of torque, and a 4.0-second zero to sixty speed.

Would it function as little more than a farm truck, though? I was interested in

the answer since I'd want to have a work truck that can pass a slow driver on a

a wireless phone charging pad, a self-leveling suspension, and other features.
