How did Chevrolet discover the Malibu issue?

The business runs a safety initiative called Speak Up For Safety. It enables assembly-line employees to report issues they observe.

This procedure was how a manufacturing worker alerted the business to the issue. GM then got in touch with the vendor.

On December 14, dealers were informed of the recall. They are told to check the vehicles,

and if a fault is found, the dealer is told not to fix it. Instead, it should let

the consumer know that GM will buy back the Malibu.

There are a total of 2,108 Chevrolet Malibu sedans implicated, all of which were

produced between July 27 and August 3, 2022.
