Porsche 996 GT3 Was Given The Sensational 'Metzger' Race Car Engine
The Porsche 996 GT3 was powered by a magnificent 3.6-liter M96/79 "Metzger" engine,
which was based on the 911 GT1 supercar and named for its creator Hans Metzger.
The hand-built powertrain could now reach 7800 rpm thanks to modifications made by Porsche,
including lighter internals, a dry sump, and the retention of the titanium conrods.
Additionally, the powerful 3.6-liter flat six now produced 360 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, which were sent to the rear wheels by
way of a wonderful 993 GT2's six-speed manual gearbox. Porsche also dropped the ride height, installed powerful brakes,
stiffer springs with adjustable dampers, and improved the anti-roll bars. Regarding the Clubsport Edition,
