Rivian’s Dual-Motor System Only A Few Months Away From Production
Mason Verbridge, Principal Drive Unit Design Engineer at Rivian, has given us yet another sneak peek at the future dual-motor
all-wheel drive system The dual-motor powertrain is in the "final phases of certification" and will enter production
in a few months after completing testing for roughly a year and a half. The dual-motor all-wheel drive technology will
be available in the R1T and R1S, but the specifics won't be revealed until next year. Two variants will indeed be available, one of
which is the entry-level model, with a combined output of 600 horsepower (447 kW / 608
PS) and a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) pace of 4.5 seconds. Customers can also purchase an
