Why are pickup trucks so expensive?
The auto industry is, as was already noted, quite congested. Prices are high because there is a demand that outweighs the supply.
However, there are other factors at play as well. We now want more from our cars, including cameras,
heated components, safety systems, censors, improved gas efficiency, and,
of course, insane power. At the same time, vehicle safety rules have also risen.
These two elements result in automobiles that are far more time- and money-consuming to produce.
Additionally, incorporating all of these technological elements necessitates semiconductor chips, which are still in low supply globally.
So what we are left with is a product that costs a lot to create and uses scarce parts.
